Crab and Lobster Event Photography Yorkshire

A wonderful celebration for Betty’s special birthday in Thirsk, Yorkshire.

I LOVE a good surprise birthday party and this was such a special occasion with all the family coming together from as far as New York at a beautiful restaurant just outside Thirsk, in Yorkshire. The restaurant (the Crab and Lobster) is such an interesting location to photograph, with it’s unique decor (as you will see below) and all the various relics and paraphernalia, which were of great amusement to the children (who needs iPads right?!).

The birthday girl was very suitably surprised and it was wonderful to observe and document such a special family gathering, there was a magician, who shocked and baffled all with his amazing tricks and kept the children (and adults) entertained, sometimes confused/amazed! A beautiful album was presented to Betty which contained family photographs over the years, stirring memories of the past, and making memories for the future.

It was a day full of laughter, joy, fun and games and it was an absolute pleasure to document. We finished the afternoon off with a big family portrait with all the great grandchildren who had all come together for the very first time. Here are a few of my favourite photographs from the session:
